Hello John,

I had not encountered a problem with sound because of the way I have been running gnubg on my Mac system in the past. However I did stumble on the problem I think you are having problems with sound. Earlier in the month you made a post about not being able to find the sound files. I encountered the same thing when I ran gnubg from /usr/ local/bin. Anyway attached is a replace sound.c file that seems to fix the problem. Can you let me know if it works and I will put it away into CVS.

The issue is that the function previously used was not an appropriate method of converting a full path and file name into a file specification (descriptor).
