Isn't it enough to press [ctrl]+h for hint?

You can drag the game record window to a very minimized form (that you
only see the navigation bar. Then you go to the first game, press the
green arrow, see the dice and move for yourself. When you press the
green arrow again, the opponents dice will be shown as long as your
moves are right. If your move differs from the game, gnubg will set up
the correct move. Not very comfortable, but for now it works.
