Yes, it is possible to download and compile your own theme engines. I 
have collected some of them and includef these in the GNU Backgammon 
installation archive. I've also done some other themes, but I had to add 
some magic to make them work. You won't find GTK 1.3 theme engines 
precompiled for Win32 any other place on the net.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to compile the Pixmap theme for 
windows. (Don't even think about trying, it will just waste your time)
