Sure, but that does not contradict my statement. POSIX allows 'ed -'
to generate whatever output it likes. "ed -" could output a copy of
the Rime of the Ancient Mariner, say. But that's not enough
justification to change from behavior that has been common practice
for 30 years, especially when such a change breaks widely used and
stable applications that themselves have been common use for over 20 years.
