info program segmentation fault

hello

i've found that info seg fault easily by doing this:
i run info and enter some node so that i can press n
several times after this to enter different nodes. The
i keep the backspace pressed. After a few nodes back
info crashes.
I have debian testing and also tested on another box
running debian. It crashes on both. I've connected to
another linux (running redhat) but that version of
info doesn't seem to have this problem. (Maybe because
of the internet connection and the lag between the
hosts).

on my box: info --version
info (GNU texinfo) 4.7

i do not know how to handle gdb but i've done this:
$gdb info
...
This GDB was configured as "i386-linux"...(no
debugging symbols found)
Using host libthread_db library
"/lib/tls/libthread_db.so.1".

(gdb) run
....
Moving to `Prev's last menu item.
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
