Oops. missed that information...

I run gawk(version 3.1.4) compiled by gcc(3.3.3) on NetBSD/AMD64.
(some patches are applied to vanila source. you can see patches at 
 http://cvsweb.netbsd.org/bsdweb.cgi/pkgsrc/lang/gawk/patches/)

Here is the output of 'locale' and 'gawk --version':

LC_NUMERIC="C"

$ gawk --version
