Subject: Bug#287682: diff: -I options documentation for "regexp" is wrong
Package: diff
Version: 2.8.1-7
Severity: normal
Manual page reads:
-I RE --ignore-matching-lines=RE
Ignore changes whose lines all match RE.
However, this is not the "normal" regexp, but only half hearted
grep-compatible regexps.
There should be a note, that egrep-style constructs like grouping are
not supported.
