Errors while making all in po

Hi. I downloaded the latest tar package, tar-1.13.tar,
from one of the GNU mirrors and got some strange
errors when trying to install it.

I'm attempting to compile tar on a sparc platform. I
read the INSTALL file and followed the directions
given. `./configure' ran without a hitch, but when I
typed `make' I get the following error:

...
Making all in po
/bin/msgfmt -o ko.mo ko.po
ERROR: Line 1641 (ko.po): Invalid character found.
*** Error code 2
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `ko.mo'
Current working directory /usr/local/tar-1.13/po
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target
`all-recursive'
Current working directory /usr/local/tar-1.13
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target
`all-recursive-am'
...

I didn't expect it to give me any errors like this, as
it seems there's something wrong with one of the
files. I actually downloaded the source from two
different gnu mirrors just in case, and they both gave
the same output.
