using time-1.7 to monitor memory? |

I liked the fact that gnu time on sunos could report useful
memory statistics - but, at last, no more!!
Seems linux and solaris don't return much information in the getrusage
fields...
This information is in the proc file system, is there a way to get
the information? Any extensions onto gnu time?
Does the /proc entries contain information about zombies?
I suppose if necessary, it could ptrace to stop the process when it is
about to exit, looking at the proc filesystem before exiting.
