[Bug-gnu-utils] cat 2Gb file problem???!! |

Hi all. I am working with RedHat's Enterprise Linux distribution, the
main reason being its ability to handle files larger than the infamous
2Gb limit. Now, this is working fine when doing gzip -d => huge files,
but when trying to cat together two files that end up +2Gb, this error
occurs:
cat: write error: File too large
I am using textutils version 2.0a since 1999. Does this problem sound
familiar to anyone?
BTW: this also happens when I redirect program output into a file
that eventually becomes bigger than 2Gb.
Thanks..
