Details:

Create a variable.  Change its format to a custom currency.
Click on the value labels column, and attempt to add a value.

You will get

psppire: src/data/data-in.c:203: parse_number: Assertion `fmt_get_category
(i->format) != FMT_CAT_CUSTOM' failed.
Aborted
