Indeed, the patch addresses only one of the two features you
requested.  But doing that exactly means a "step in the right
direction".  So I'm unsure why you still disagree that it is a step in
the right direction.  I didn't say that it's a complete solution, just
a part of it.  The other part still needs to be implemented.
