Frankly, it was a very long time ago, I don't remember the bug, and I don't even use ERC anymore, so if nobody else complains, you can close the bug report.

Can you post a recipe for how to reproduce this bug?  That is, starting
from "emacs -Q", what settings do you do, and what's the expected result?

(domestic pets only, the antidote for overdose, milk.)
