bug#22021: 24.5; auctex?

Hi,

after update to MacOS X El Capitan, recompiling the
Emacs, and loading Auctex from ELPA, the latex mode does
not work.

This happens when I start the Emacs from the finder
or with the command

   /Applications/Emacs24.5/Emacs.app/Contents/MacOS/Emacs
   or
   /Applications/Emacs24.5/Emacs.app/Contents/MacOS/Emacs -q
in Terminal.
The error message, when opening a Latex file, the error messages
are

File mode specification error: (invalid-function TeX-auto-add-type)
File local-variables error: (invalid-function TeX-auto-add-type)

Any help greatly appreciated.
