bug#21984: 25.0.50; Creating a new file in a new directory in a subversion sandbox fails

In the backtrace I supplied, "emacs" is the root of the subversion sandbox and "src" already exists, whereas "newdir" doesn't.

Which part(s) in this file name don't exist?  And where's the part
that is the SVN sandbox?
