bug#11520: 24.1.50; delete-selection-mode conflicts with electric-pair-mode

delete-selection-mode clobbers text before electric-pair-mode can get
to it. Since they are both built-in to Emacs, the modes should be aware
of each other.

Reproduction steps:

M-x delete-selection-mode
