After removing *.elc from cedet, release version runs without errors.
I also made a clean build (msvc) of CVS HEAD - no issues either.
That might be already fixed or local glitch.

I see you originally reported this against the CVS trunk around the time
that there were some changes in byte-opt.el that caused some problems.
Perhaps there are some corrupt .elc files as a result of that attempt
that are causing problems now.
Try deleting all the .elc files under cedet and recompiling from scratch
with Emacs 22.1.
