Have you ever experienced a problem with Emacs making incorrect coding
system changes when you do that? If so, submit a proper bug report.
You could just define a keyboard macro that does what you need (e.g.
`f C-x C-w C-x k'), name it, then bind it to "C" in Archive Mode's
local keymap.
