emacs install ok, but execute core dumps on HPUX 11.11

is there any info out there to help me?

I have all the necessary prereqs installed as stated:

  gcc                           3.4.2          gcc
  gettext                       0.14.1         gettext
  glib                          1.2.10         glib
  gtk+                          1.2.10         gtk+
  jpeg                          6b             jpeg
  libiconv                      1.9.2          libiconv
  libpng                        1.2.7          libpng
  ncurses                       5.4            ncurses
  tiff                          3.6.1          tiff
  xpm                           3.4k           xpm
  zlib                          1.2.2          zlib


The install goes fin, but when I execute emacs 21.3 is core dumps stating:
/usr/lib/dld.sl : Cant open shared library : /usr/local/lib/libungif.sl
/usr/lib/dld.sl : No such file or directory.
