windows explorer crashes when I drag doc to emacs desktop icon

To whom it may concern:

I am wondering if anyone has come across the following problem when 
running Emacs v. 21.2.1
If I run emacs and then load files to edit, there is no problem.

However, if I drag a file from windows explorer (I have Windows 2000, 
Sp3) onto the emacs desktop icon, the file opens, but then Windows 
Explorer crashes.
My computer may be having other problems, so the problem with emacs may 
have little or nothing to do with emacs itself, but I just thought I 
would at least ask if anyone else had had this problem.
