what good is it to have the region numbers hardwired into the C-x ESC
ESC history when one just wants to do the same command over but hopes
it will act on the current region, not some region of the past.
(query-replace-regexp "a" "b" nil 2987 6928)
really breaks the flow of things for C-x ESC ESC
