Sorry, I'm not sure I understand what feature are you talking about.
Is it about the chapter "Editing Formatted Text" which describes
Enriched Text Mode and related features?  If so, the section "Faces in
Formatted Text" documents keyboard commands such as "M-g b" and "M-g i"
which don't need the mouse.

The very next section describes the keyboard way (mentioned above).
Perhaps all that is missing is to say that the reader should look in
the next section for the other way".
