"This" is to find out why did Gnus want fakemail in the first place.  One 
way to dig into this is to rename fakemail.exe to something else, then 
set debug-on-error to t, and see in the backtrace which function wants 
fakemail.exe to be present.

Also, I hope Andrew and Jason could chime in some time soon...
