Yes, it's a known problem. But it's difficult to get it right 100%.
I have a tentative patch that gets the above case correctly. But it
still doesn't cover the more tricky cases where you use fancyverb or
any other verbatim-like extension.
Without re-implementing a TeX interpreter in elisp, you can't get it
really right.
