Error message in `eval-expression' |

In GNU Emacs 20.7.1 (i386-*-nt5.0.2195)
of Fri Sep 29 2000 on VISTULA
configured using `configure NT'
Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:
Running "M-:" (eval-expression), and giving
a non-complete sexp causes an invalid error message:
M-: (setq debug-on-error t) [RET]
M-: (setq steve-error t [RET] (Not the lack of closing ')' ).
-> Error : "End of file during parsing"
Incidently; I imagined the result of performing the
first eval would be that I'd get dropped into the Lisp
debugger - but that didn't happen.
`eval-expression' is defined in simple.el - but to be
honest I didn't see an immediate cause for the error.
