I did, I found Nupedia a few weeks before Gnupedia was announced
(incidently I found it while researching a question which I was
planning to post to "Ask Slashdot" regarding the lack of GPLed
reference software(encyclopedias, atlases, family tree
software, etc.)) and found it lacked the "feel" I would expect from a
free encyclopedia.

But that time is not now, keep Nupedia developing on the track it is
going along now, and at a later time when Gnupedia has the
software base and Nupedia the content base the two could merge
both complementing each others resources.
If they would merge now we may loose a lot of the content
developers as we'd be moving into a alpha software project which is
not the best time to introduce users.
