Are you planning to implement RMS's exclusionary rule, the thing he calls "the
most important" rule for content? That is, are you planning to prohibit your
content from linking to non-free websites, such as the big university projects?
To me, it looks like RMS wants to build a "Gated Community" that can act as a
safe haven for free text and populate it with something worthwhile; and
nupedia.org wants to make a very high quality FDL'd encyclopedia. These are two
very worthy, but mutually incompatible, goals. My uneasiness is in assuming
that nupedia.org in any way fulfills RMS's announcement,
http://www.gnu.org/encyclopedia/announcement.html
Without the exclusionary rule, there can be no gated community. If you're not
planning to implement that, then we have two different projects here and they
definitely need different names.
