The XML idea is a fair one, but the advantage of an
SQL database is keeping all the information in one
"file", os sorts. It is a lot faster to search and
access, and easier to maintain as well. And if the
mySQL team get their own filesystem sorted, then it
will be seriously fast. It would just mean our servers
could handle a lot more visitors, and would pass info
back much, much faster. I think the XML idea should
only be used if we made a CD of the resource every now
and again.
