Refused Mail from address@hidden - Reason: Connection from dynamic/resid

From: master
Subject: Refused Mail from address@hidden - Reason: Connection from dynamic/residential IP address
Date: Wed, 20 Aug 2003 14:00:01 +0200 (CEST)

An e-mail message you (or someone using your e-mail address) sent was
refused by easynet.nl's mailsystem because your mail originates
from a dynamically assigned or residential (non-business) IP address.

Due to anti-spam measures, easynet.nl only accepts mail from registered
mailservers and from static IP addresses, DSL/Cable ranges used for private
residential purposes excluded. We will not accept mail from residential
Cable/DSL IP addresses belonging to ISPs that specifically disallow servers
on these connections. Some of these ISPs can be found on the link below:
 http://dynablock.easynet.nl/errors.html. See their policies.

If your Internet connection is based on dynamic IP assignments or assigned for
residential/personal use, please send your outgoing mail through your ISP's
smtp server; if you're running a mail server on a dynamic or residential IP
address,
make your ISP's smtp server your smarthost/relayserver/nexthop. Call your
current
ISP's support desk if you need assistance with configuring your server.

If you really want to run your own mailserver on a dial-up/residential
connection,
ask your ISP for a static IP address and a PTR record reflecting its function.
If
your ISP does not allow servers on its Cable/DSL connections, you will have to
respect that policy, as well as our policy not to accept incoming email from
these
 connections.

Please forward this error message to your local systems administrator or your
 Internet provider's support staff:

 Two final remarks:

 1. You may receive this message more than once, perhaps even many
times. This means your mailserver does not handle so-called
'permanent fatal errors' the way it should. Any mailserver should
STOP trying to send any e-mail that was rejected with a permanent
fatal error (error code 5xx) after the first try and RETURN it to
you (the sender) immediately. If it tries to re-send that e-mail over
and over again it is badly configured and your systems administrator
should either fix it or order mailserver software that obeys Internet
standards. In the meantime, we will try to inform you only once each
day we receive mail from you through a dynamically assigned IP address.
Please note that ALL e-mail sent by you that day may have been refused
 by our mailsystem!

 2. You may receive this message even though you did not send e-mail
at all. This is probably a sign that a third party (a spammer) is
using your e-mail address to send unsolicited e-mail through a
dial-up connection (which is exactly the reason why we do not allow
these connections). OR that your e-mail address is being used by an
e-mail virus trying to spread itself under 'your' name. We're sorry.
There is nothing we can do about that.

Thank you for your assistance in making the Internet safer.
