GS 6.5 twice as slow as GS 5.1 - bug? |

I've a small test file ( 5K - http://www.aczone.com/test.ps )
Using gs 5.1, and the following command, it takes 15 seconds.
Using gs 6.5, and the same command, it takes 29 seconds.
Anyone have any ideas, is this fixed in 7.5 (or is that
twice as slow as 6.5 ?!)
Exact details of versions and commands (script output):
