Yocto Project is described as targeting "embedded software". I would
expect that translator tools and programmer tools are not needed _in_
embedded software. If that is the case, you can build only the
'gettext-runtime' subdirectory of the gettext package. The 'gettext-tools'
directory is what takes more time to build, but for "end users" the
'gettext-runtime' is all they need.
