While I was at it, I spotted 2 strange printf arguments:
#: debug.c:1258
#, c-format
msgid "attempt to use array `%s[\".*%s\"]' in a scalar context"
#: debug.c:1280
#, c-format
msgid "attempt to use scalar `%s[\".*%s\"]' as array"
Shouldn't that be: %.*s
