Hello,

On Jun 10 10:43 Andrew J. Schorr wrote (excerpt):
I think your bash examples are not comparable.

My bash examples were only meant to show generally
what could be done when one wants to change the content
of a file when working as normal user versus file owner
versus root.

The intent behind was to show what also a tool could do
when a user commands it to change the content of a file.

When I am file owner I expect that a tool just changes my file.

When I am root I expect that a tool just changes any file
(intervention by SELinux or AppArmor is usually unexpected).

When I am normal user I expect that a tool works in compliance
with my normal user permissions (if a tool could exceed my
normal user permissions there is a security issue somewhere).

Kind Regards
