[bug-gawk] string or regular expression longer than 399

Hi

      We are using awk to write some scripts on AIX 5, but following error happened.

      0602-508 The string or regular _expression_ beginning with the characters "xxx" cannot contain more than 399 bytes.

     I find this is the limitation of awk on AIX 5 on forum, but nobody answers me which version can overcome this limitation.

    So, is this limitation has been overcome in new release or not? If it has been fixed, that which version of awk I should use?
