GNU ed 1.16-pre1 is ready for testing here
http://download.savannah.gnu.org/releases/ed/ed-1.16-pre1.tar.lz

The sha256sum is:
f8b7d77b0dd30c2623226584ac332afd3057c3b0c614b279fc2857b26630d9b5 ed-1.16-pre1.tar.lz

Please, test it and report any bugs you find.

GNU ed is an 8-bit clean, more or less POSIX-compliant implementation of the standard Unix line editor.

The homepage is at http://www.gnu.org/software/ed/ed.html

Changes in this version:

* The substitute command no longer complains about an 'Infinite substitution loop' with a substitution like 's/^/#/g'. (Reported by Bjoern Wibben).

* It has been documented in the manual that extended regular expression operators may be unavailable depending on the particular regex implementation in the system running ed. (Reported by Brian Zwahr).

Regards,
Antonio Diaz, GNU ed maintainer.
