[bug-diffutils] diffutils with --suffix produces error in "make check"

Hello,
When I compile diffutils 3.2 with "--suffix-_32", the "make check" throws 
an error. The compile without "--suffix-_32" produces no error.

Attached is a bzipped tar foile of the configure, make, and make check 
logs from both with and without "--suffix-_32".

The output appears to match, based on the "ls -l" listings in the tar 
file.
