I'm trying to get a feel for how long data recovery takes with ddrescue. I realize this is dependent on all sorts of variables. But I'd like to find out how long it took for some of you to complete your recoveries. Please give me some data.
For example, I am currently recovering a 500GB drive. It's been working for 1 day and has recovered 11GB so far at an average rate of 194kb/s. The drive is a 3.5" internal SATA and is connected to the computer via a USB 2.0 adapter. So unless things speed up, I'm looking at a month and a half to finish pulling the image.
I'm trying to gauge these numbers. How do they compare to your results? To be respectful of the subscribers to this mailing list, please E-mail your results directly to me.
