Samba - CVS Problem

Hello,

we are running a mixed environment with hpux'es, linux and windows XP
machines. The HPux disks can be accessed via samba from the XP world.
Introducing a cvs repository sited on one of the linux machines (V 1.11)
we experienced a problem with some of the Hpux shares but not all of
them: committing files to the repository from commandline as well as
with tortoise (1.8.29 Plink Release 0.56) results in files of equaly
large size of 1.384.649 KB (1414807896 Bytes exactly) independent of
what the original size was. The difference to the original file is
filled up with zero bytes. The CVSNT Version used is 2.5.03 build 2260
We are running a smbd of version 2.2.5 and HPUX 11.11. The problem
doesn't occur when commiting or checking out files into/out of the
repository on the HPUX itself, that's why samba is under suspicion. It
equally doesn't show up on the linux (suse 9.X) machines with smbd
2.2.0a installed. Is there anything known? I didn't find a thing on the
web.
