You have some options:

1. Use an unzipper which does the LF -> CR/LF conversion (some zipper do
   so)

2. Use the cygwin tools and make sure that you have the Windows line
   endings set in cygwin

3. Use unix2dos to convert the .DS? manually.

This is a very bad restriction of MSVC.
