CVS on MacOS X

From: Conrad T. Pino
Subject: CVS on MacOS X

I have a Mac PowerBook G4 on loan with the
base MacOS X and Apple supplied tools. In
that there's a copy of CVS but it doesn't
have the "version" command. The output
follows.

I have two questions:

1. What version is this likely to be?

2. Is it worthwhile compiling the released
feature and stable branches and posting the
binaries on "www.cvshome.org" downloads
even though I may be able to do this just
once or only irregularly?

Thanks in advance,

Conrad
