Hmmm... this may be a problem with $CVSROOT/CVSROOT/val-tags not having
a 'mytag y' line in it.

I believe this problem is still present in cvs and cvs (ie, the most recent CVS top-of-tree versions of both stable
and feature releases).

It is a bug.

The workaround is to do something like:

    cvs co -r mytag one
    cvs release -d one
    cvs export -r mytag all

which is painful, but the best you can probably do for now.
