It would be wise to also specify the kind of host and operating system
for your test case.
You should set testdir properly to a directory that contains no symbolic
links.
In your case, you apparently used something like:
setenv TESTDIR /home/prj/src/spf/sp-foreign-cvs-sanity
should have been
setenv TESTDIR /fs/data/mount/home/prj/src/spf/sp-foreign-cvs-sanity
instead.
As has been mentioned many times, cvs is not really fully integrated
with the use of symbolic links in arbitrary places.
