I think this would be more trouble than it's worth. In this particular
case, there's a Mac OS X bug on feature no one seems to have much
interest or luck in chasing down. This sort of procedure could have
delayed 1.11.7 indefinately.
This one change was probably close to the most invasive that made it
into 1.11.7 and didn't get tested due to the complexities of testing
using a tty. This sort of occurance should tend to be rare.
|BTW, thanks for releasing 1.11.7, the diff fixes are a relief!
