I was very much confused about "CVS/m4 directory".  It is unnatural.  Maybe
change it to "m4/ directory", or to "ccvs/m4/ directory", or something?

Will do. Sorry. I was getting tired of saying "the <dir> directory in the toplevel of the CVS tree". I think I'll go with ccvs/<dir>. Thanks. :)
