Indeed.  As a perl neophyte, it would have been a valuable learning
experience to fix them myself if I had a bit more time available.  The
first simply requires double quoting the file name and escaping any
shell metacharacters it contains ($`\").  The second just requires
grabbing only the revision number and ignoring any following cruft,
which should be trivial with perl's regular expression stuff.
