bug#18350: /bin/cat segfault

I have recently upgraded from Ubuntu 10.?? to 12.?? to 14.04.

Anytime I run "/bin/cat", it segfaults:

address@hidden:~/workspace$ cat foo
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

address@hidden:~/workspace$ file /bin/cat
/bin/cat: ELF 32-bit LSB  executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV),
dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.24,
