It was all of the discussion about 'ls -l | head' needing 'ls -1U'
that confused me. I had read that strangly (incorrectly) and thought
that 'ls -U | head' was going to be different from 'ls -1U | head' and
that prompted me to ask for a clarification. Glad it was just my
reading of the mail that put me into confusion. Reading through the
mail again I now see that it was the 'ls -l' that was being discussed
at that point. (You know we used to use 'l' for '1', yes, that is my
excuse. :-)
