I just downloaded the new beta afor 9.04 and had the following experience.

I started up the disk and chose install.  It went through the process and I 
ended up at a black screen with writing on it.  Evidently it wanted me to enter 
some kind of command.  Had no idea.

Then I restarted it and choose the "live" cd, figuring I would install it after 
it got to the desktop.  It went to the same black screen and wanted a command.  
 I threw away the disk.

I have a laptop  Toshiba M35x-S311,   768 ram, 60 hdd, 1.8mhz.
