Hello,
at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/coreutils/+bug/123423 is proposed
ls enhancement highlighting regular files with hardlinks (1 < nlink). I tried
to implement this enhancement, but I have some questions:
1. Do you think, it would be useful? I think it would.
2. In the report it is proposed to highlight the number of links, but I am not
sure with such solution.
There is already working infrastructure for file names highlighting. It will
be much more systematic to highlight file names using this infrastructure
than highlighting the number of links.
So I propose to add new ls color attribute to highlight files with more than
one hardlink. What do you think?
