With coreutils-6.11 I see the same failures, plus 4 additional ones.

Looking at it one by one:


1) cp/parent-perm.log failed like this:

+ . /../umask-check
./parent-perm: line 27: /../umask-check: No such file or directory

Apparently $abs_srcdir expanded to empty. This is normal, because cp/Makefile
has a TESTS_ENVIRONMENT variable which takes care to set abs_top_builddir,
abs_top_srcdir, srcdir, top_srcdir as environment variables, but abs_srcdir
is missing.

Up to you to decide whether $abs_srcdir is a typo, or this variable is
missing from tests/check.mk.
